2.79

次、歷諸禪。根本、九想、背捨等，但是禪，非波羅蜜。觀入定四運，尚不見心，何處有定？即達禪實相，以禪攝一切法。故《論》第五，解八想竟，明十力、四無所畏、一切法。諸論師不達玄旨，咸謂《論》誤，未應說此。此是論主明八想作摩訶衍相，故廣釋諸法耳（云云）。

Next, passing through the dhyānas: the fundamental [dhyānas], the nine notions, the eight liberations, and so forth are merely dhyāna, not pāramitā. When contemplating the four movements of entering concentration, one does not even see the mind, so where is concentration? One then penetrates the true reality of dhyāna, using dhyāna to gather all dharmas. Therefore, the fifth fascicle of the Treatise [on the Great Prajñāpāramitā], having explained the eight notions, clarifies the ten powers, the four fearlessnesses, and all dharmas. The treatise masters, failing to penetrate the profound purport, all claimed that the Treatise was mistaken and should not yet have stated this. This was the author of the Treatise clarifying that the eight notions constitute the characteristics of the Mahāyāna, and therefore broadly explaining all dharmas (and so on).
