3.107

疑者若言：「佛常依二諦說法，故有三番二諦意。」今亦例此，佛常好中道，降胎、出生、出家、成道、入滅皆在中夜。一色一香無非中道；若說中道，豈不三意赴緣耶？

If a doubter says, 'The Buddha always taught the Dharma relying on the two truths, and therefore there are three modes of the two truths'—now by analogy with this, the Buddha always favored the middle way: descending into the womb, being born, leaving home, attaining enlightenment, and entering extinction all took place in the middle of the night. Not a single form or single fragrance is other than the middle way; if one expounds the middle way, would it not respond to conditions through three intentions?
