夫行者破惡不同，或聞有法，能破睡眠、覺觀等；或聞無法，能破睡、散等；或聞中法，能破睡、散等。此即隨情中用對治悉檀意也。

Practitioners' destruction of evil varies: some, hearing of existent phenomena, are able to destroy sleepiness, initial thought, and sustained thought; some, hearing of non-existent phenomena, are able to destroy sleepiness and distraction; some, hearing of the middle phenomena, are able to destroy sleepiness and distraction. This is the intention of using the counteractive siddhānta within [the explanation] in accord with sentiments.
