3.109

夫眾生便宜不同，或聞說無，戒慧增長；或聞說有，戒慧增長；或聞說中，戒慧增長。此即隨情中用為人悉檀意也。

What benefits sentient beings varies: some, hearing the explanation of non-existence, increase in precepts and wisdom; some, hearing the explanation of existence, increase in precepts and wisdom; some, hearing the explanation of the middle, increase in precepts and wisdom. This is the intention of using the individual-adaptation siddhānta within [the explanation] in accord with sentiments.
