又若觀因緣，又觀因緣即是佛性，佛性即是如來，是名乳中殺人；若觀析空，又觀析空即是佛性，佛性即是如來，是名酪中殺人；若觀即空，又觀即空即是佛性，是名生酥殺人；若觀假名，又觀假名即是佛性，是為熟酥殺人；若觀即中，又觀即中即是佛性，是名醍醐殺人。今通言殺人者，即二死已斷，三道清淨，名為殺人，是為止觀攝不定教。

Furthermore, if one contemplates conditioned co-arising, and further contemplates conditioned co-arising as identical to the Buddha-nature, and the Buddha-nature as identical to the Tathāgata, this is called 'killing a person within milk.' If one contemplates analytical emptiness, and further contemplates analytical emptiness as identical to the Buddha-nature, and the Buddha-nature as identical to the Tathāgata, this is called 'killing a person within curd.' If one contemplates intrinsic emptiness, and further contemplates intrinsic emptiness as identical to the Buddha-nature, this is called 'killing a person within curd-butter.' If one contemplates provisional designations, and further contemplates provisional designations as identical to the Buddha-nature, this is called 'killing a person within clarified butter.' If one contemplates identity with the middle, and further contemplates identity with the middle as identical to the Buddha-nature, this is called 'killing a person within ghee.' Speaking generally here of 'killing a person': the two kinds of death are severed and the three paths are purified; this is called 'killing a person.' This is calming and contemplation subsuming the indeterminate teaching.
