3.225

為思議鈍根，拙度令入真諦，說三藏觀；為思議利根，巧度令入真諦，故說通觀；為不思議鈍根，拙度令入見中，故說別觀；為不思議利根，巧度令入見中，故說圓觀。是名為一實而施三權。

For those of dull faculties of the conceivable, saving them clumsily to cause them to enter the true truth, he expounds the Tripiṭaka contemplation; for those of sharp faculties of the conceivable, saving them skillfully to cause them to enter the true truth, he expounds the shared contemplation; for those of dull faculties of the inconceivable, saving them clumsily to cause them to enter seeing the middle, he expounds the distinctive contemplation; for those of sharp faculties of the inconceivable, saving them skillfully to cause them to enter seeing the middle, he expounds the perfect contemplation. This is termed applying the three provisionals for the sake of the one real.
