4.129

今各具三義：一、如佛威神覆護，即是外護。二、諸佛聖人亦脫瓔珞，著弊垢衣，執除糞器，和光利物，豈非同行？三、諸佛菩薩一音演法，開發化導，各令得解，即是教授。此即具三義也。

Now each possesses all three meanings: 1. As the Buddha's awe-inspiring spiritual power shelters and protects, this is the external protector. 2. The buddhas and sage persons also strip off their necklaces, don soiled and ragged robes, take up vessels for removing excrement, and harmonise their light to benefit beings—how is this not a fellow practitioner? 3. The buddhas and bodhisattvas expound the Dharma with a single voice, opening up, transforming, and guiding, causing each to attain understanding; this is the teacher. Thus they possess all three meanings.
