4.33

次「觀因緣心即是假」者，知心非心，法亦非法，而不永滯非心非法。以道種方便，無所有中，立心、立法，拔出諸心數法，導利眾生，為「智所讚」。雖廣分別無量心法，但有名字，如虛空相，不生愛著，惑相不拘，名為「自在」。如此假觀，防止無知，善順俗理；防邊論止，順邊論觀，即是「假觀持兩戒」也。

Next, regarding "contemplating that the mind of conditioned arising is identical to the provisional": one knows that mind is non-mind and phenomena are also non-phenomena, yet does not remain permanently stagnant in non-mind and non-phenomena. Through the skillful means of the knowledge of the paths, in the midst of nonexistence one establishes mind and establishes phenomena, extracting all mental factors to guide and benefit sentient beings; this is "praised by the wise." Although one extensively discriminates immeasurable mental phenomena, they are merely provisional names, possessing the mark of empty space; one gives rise to no attachment, and unbound by the marks of delusion, this is called "sovereignty." Such contemplation of the provisional wards off ignorance and accords well with mundane truth. Discussing calming in terms of warding off, and contemplation in terms of according, this is "upholding two kinds of precepts through contemplation of the provisional."
