Or, taking the mundane [siddhānta], it is taught that the mind contains all phenomena, and those who hear it rejoice. As it is said: "In the three realms there is no separate phenomenon; they are created solely by the one mind"—this is the passage. Or it is taught that conditions produce all phenomena, and those who hear it rejoice. As it is said: "The five desires cause people to fall into evil destinies; a good friend is a great cause and condition, namely guiding and instructing them to see the Buddha"—this is the passage. Or it is said that causes and conditions together produce all phenomena, and those who hear it rejoice. As it is said: "When quicksilver is combined with genuine gold, it can coat all forms and images"—this is the passage. Or it is said that apart [from causes and conditions] all phenomena are produced, and those who hear it rejoice. As it is said: "The twelve links of conditioned arising are not made by the Buddha, nor by gods, humans, or asuras; their nature is just so of itself"—this is the passage. These four positions are the mundane siddhānta teaching that the mind produces the three thousand all phenomena.
