5.121

云何第一義悉檀？心得見理，如言：「心開意解，豁然得道。」或說緣能見理，如言：「須臾聞之，即得究竟三菩提。」或說因緣和合得道，如：「快馬見鞭影即得正路」。或說離能見理，如言：「無所得即是得已，是得無所得。」是名第一義四句見理，何況心生三千法耶？

What is the ultimate truth siddhānta? The mind comes to see the principle, as it is said: "The mind opens and the intent is unlocked, and with sudden clarity one attains the path." Or it teaches that conditions can see the principle, as it is said: "Hearing it for an instant, one immediately attains ultimate sambodhi." Or it teaches that the harmony of causes and conditions attains the path, as in: "A swift horse sees the shadow of the whip and immediately takes the right road." Or it teaches that being apart [from conditions] can see the principle, as it is said: "Non-attainment is itself having attained; this attainment is non-attainment." These are called the four positions of the ultimate truth seeing the principle, how much more so the mind producing the three thousand phenomena?
