“Furthermore, good man! The seven treasures in a well, or jars and basins in a dark room, must await the light of the sun. Once the sun has come forth, they all become clearly visible. One must have the eye of wisdom to contemplate and know the true reality of all phenomena; among all phenomena, one enters into them all through equal contemplation. Prajñāpāramitā illuminates most brightly.” With skillful means and various causes and parables, one extensively praises contemplation, causing him to attain awakening and understanding. This is called “calming the mind by contemplating in accordance with the supreme truth.” Such are the eight turns of explaining how to calm the mind for a person of the faith-practice type.
