無生教門，竪攝因果，其義已彰；橫攝之意，今當說。《大品》云：「若聞無生門，則解一切義。初阿字攝四十一字，四十一字攝阿字，中間亦然。」橫竪備攝，其文如此。此意難見，更引《佛藏》示其相，次引《涅槃》釋其義，後說無生門破法遍。

The teaching gate of non-arising vertically encompasses cause and fruit; its meaning has already been manifested. The meaning of horizontal encompassment will now be explained. The Pañcaviṃśatisāhasrikā says: 'If one hears the gate of non-arising, one understands all meanings. The initial letter "A" encompasses the forty-one letters, and the forty-one letters encompass the letter "A"; the intermediate ones are also like this.' Encompassing both horizontally and vertically, its text is like this. Because this meaning is difficult to perceive, we further cite the Buddhapiṭaka to show its characteristics, next cite the Mahāparinirvāṇa to explain its meaning, and afterwards explain the pervasive destruction of dharmas through the gate of non-arising.
