Delusions of view arise attached to the substance, and in turn can obstruct the substance. Just as heat-shimmer depends on space yet stirs and disturbs space; or like a dream caused by sleep, the dream confounds the sleep. If the dream does not cease, one cannot awaken from sleep; if this delusion is not removed, the substance cannot be revealed. However, 'view' means seeing the principle; seeing is truly not delusion. When seeing the principle, one can cut off this delusion; taking its name from understanding, it is merely named 'delusion of view.' There are four types of delusions of view: first, simple four views; second, compound four views; third, complete four views; fourth, ineffable view.
