Now, the basis of refuting views depends indeterminately on hearing and reflection. If a person of superior capacity hears and contemplates arising, they realize that arising is non-arising, refute grasping, and attain awakening. Those of medium capacity have slight grasping, accomplish the skillful means of subduing views, and attain the wholesome contaminated five aggregates. Those of inferior capacity have heavy grasping and still harbor attachment; hearing that arising is refuted and that arising cannot be found, they consider non-arising to be real and further give rise to the view of non-arising. They must also be refuted generally and specifically.
