5.31

修不修者，作意修陰界入，界入開解，是修發；不作意，陰界入自發，通達色心，是不修發，乃至菩薩境亦如是。應有四句為根本，句句織成三十六句，例如下煩惱境中說。

"Cultivated or uncultivated" means: when one intentionally cultivates [contemplation of] the aggregates, realms, and sense-bases, and understanding of the realms and sense-bases unfolds, this is arising through cultivation. When one does not intend it, yet the aggregates, realms, and sense-bases arise of themselves, penetrating form and mind, this is arising without cultivation. It is likewise up to the bodhisattva realm. There should be four basic propositions, and each proposition is interwoven into thirty-six propositions, as explained below in [the section on] the realm of defilements.
