If one uses worldly wisdom to sever the delusions of thought, it is called the "knowledge of exhaustion"; if severed by unpolluted wisdom, it is called the "knowledge of non-arising". This is called the "contemplation of directly realizing thought[-delusions]". Breaking the nine times nine—eighty-one grades—of thought-delusions in the three realms completely is called "breaking dharmas universally".
