6.71

言四門者：觀幻化見思，虛妄色盡，別有妙色，名為「佛性」。《大經》云：「空空者，即是外道；解脫者，即是不空，即是真善妙色。如來祕藏不得、不有。」又「我者，即如來藏；如來藏者，即是佛性。」《如來藏經》云：「幣帛裹金，土摸內像。」凡有十譬等，即是有門也。

Regarding the four gates: contemplating the views and thoughts of illusory transformation, when false form is exhausted, there is distinctly a wondrous form, which is named "buddha-nature." The *Mahāparinirvāṇa Sūtra* says: "Emptiness-emptiness is tīrthika; liberation is non-empty, which is true, good, and wondrous form. The Tathāgata's secret treasury cannot be grasped, yet is not non-existent." Also: "The self is the tathāgatagarbha; the tathāgatagarbha is buddha-nature." The *Tathāgatagarbha Sūtra* says: "Fine silk wrapping gold; a clay mold containing an image." There are ten similes in all, which constitute the existence gate.
