○第八、明次位者：夫真、似二位，有解脫知見，朱紫分明。終不謬謂未得謂得，計四善根以為初果，初果為無學，自知所斷證、未斷證。雖四門名位有殊，斷及諦理孱然不異。

Eighth, clarifying the sequence of stages: In the two stages of the real and the resemblance, there are the knowledge and vision of liberation, as distinct as vermilion and purple. One never erroneously takes what has not been attained as attained, imagining the four wholesome roots to be the first fruit, or the first fruit to be the stage of no-more-learning; one knows for oneself what has been severed and realized, and what has not been severed and realized. Although the designations and stages in the four gates differ, the severing and the truth-principle are clearly identical.
