唯翻譯名數，未暇廣尋九意，不與世間文字法師共，亦不與事相禪師共。一種禪師，唯有觀心一意，或淺、或偽，餘九全無。此非虛言，後賢有眼者當證知也。次位者，十意之一也。

Merely translating names and numerical lists without leisure to broadly seek the nine intentions is not shared with worldly masters of literal texts, nor is it shared with meditation masters of external phenomena. A certain type of meditation master possesses only the single intention of contemplating the mind, which is either shallow or false, completely lacking the remaining nine. These are not empty words; future worthy persons who have eyes will attest to and know this. Stages and ranks are one of these ten intentions.
