7.161

若圓教次位者，於菩薩境中應廣分別。但彼證今修，故須略辨。若四種三昧修習方便，通如上說，唯《法華》別約六時五悔，重作方便。今就五悔明其位相。

As for the stages and ranks of the perfect teaching, they should be extensively distinguished within the realm of the bodhisattva. However, since those refer to realization while we now speak of cultivation, they must be briefly elucidated here. The preparatory expedients for cultivating the four kinds of samādhi are generally as explained above, but the Lotus Sūtra specifically relies on the five repentances across the six periods of the day to reconstruct the expedients. Now, relying on the five repentances, I shall clarify their characteristics across the stages.
