四、相生者：如修念處能生正勤，正勤發如意足，如意足生五根，五根生五力，五力生七覺，七覺入八正道，是為善巧調適。戒、定、慧等，皆名為正。「清淨心常一，則能見般若。」是為相生，亦是調適。

Fourth, mutual generation: for instance, cultivating the smṛtyupasthāna can generate the correct exertions; the correct exertions produce the bases of supernormal power; the bases of supernormal power generate the five faculties; the five faculties generate the five powers; the five powers generate the seven factors of awakening; and the seven factors of awakening enter the eightfold correct path—this is skillful harmonization. Precepts, samādhi, wisdom, and so forth are all called "correct." "When the pure mind is constantly unified, one can perceive prajñā." This is mutual generation, and it is also harmonization.
