Furthermore, practicing the thirty-seven factors of the path, one is about to arrive at the city of non-outflow. The city has three gates; if one enters these gates, one immediately unfolds truth: that is, the gates of emptiness, signlessness, and wishlessness, which are also termed the 'three gates of deliverance' and the 'three samādhis'. If from right view and right thought one enters concentration, and from concentration unfolds the non-outflows, at that time the wisdom of right view is termed the 'great minister' and right concentration is the 'great king'; taking its name from this, it is termed the 'three samādhis'. 'Without wisdom there is no dhyāna'—this is precisely the meaning.
