If from right concentration one gives rise to right view, and from right view unfolds the non-outflows, at that time right concentration is the great minister and wisdom is the great king; taking its name from this, it is termed the 'three deliverances'. 'Without dhyāna there is no wisdom'—this is precisely the meaning. Or perhaps samādhi is the path of subduing, while deliverance is the path of severing and the path of realization. Or perhaps because concentration and wisdom are united, samādhi is none other than deliverance, and deliverance is none other than samādhi.
