Next, explain: prajñā arises, all dharmas arise; prajñā arises, all dharmas do not arise; prajñā arises, all dharmas both arise and do not arise; prajñā arises, all dharmas neither arise nor do not arise. The first refers to path knowledge illuminating the conventional realm; the second refers to path knowledge illuminating the true realm; the third refers to path knowledge illuminating both realms; the fourth refers to path knowledge illuminating the middle realm. Next, explain: prajñā does not arise, all dharmas do not arise; prajñā does not arise, all dharmas arise; prajñā does not arise, all dharmas both arise and do not arise; prajñā does not arise, all dharmas neither arise nor do not arise. This explains the meaning of true knowledge illuminating the various realms, which can be known in accordance with the preceding. Next, explain that prajñā both arising and not arising opens into four propositions; this explains the true knowledge of the aspects of the path illuminating the four realms, and so forth. Next, explain that for prajñā neither arising nor not arising, knowledge of the middle way illuminating the four realms can be known, and so forth. These are sixteen, which together with the fundamental make thirty-six propositions.
