Regarding the mind's calming and contemplation: sit upright with correct mindfulness, remove evil thoughts, abandon all scattered thinking, do not engage in miscellaneous deliberation, do not grasp at marks, but exclusively fix your conditions on the dharmadhātu, in a single thought-moment on the dharmadhātu. Fixing conditions is calming; a single thought-moment is contemplation. Believe that all phenomena are the Buddha-dharma, without before or after, without boundaries, without knower, and without speaker. If there is neither knower nor speaker, then there is neither existence nor non-existence, neither knower nor non-knower. Apart from these two extremes, abide where there is no abiding, just as the Buddhas abide, resting peacefully in the quiescent dharmadhātu. Hearing this profound Dharma, do not give rise to alarm or fear!
