Karmic signs being the dharmadhātu: karma is the aggregate of formations. The Lotus Sūtra says: "Deeply penetrating the characteristics of sin and blessing, / Illuminating throughout the ten directions, / The wondrous, pure dharmakāya / Is fully endowed with the thirty-two marks." Understanding that karma arises from conditions and, not being autonomous, is empty—this karma is able to destroy karma. If sentient beings should be delivered by means of this karma, one manifests various karmas, and by means of this karma establishes karma. Karma and non-karma, bondage and liberation cannot be grasped. Manifesting through the universal gate, illuminating both bondage and liberation, it is called "deep penetration"—how could it merely suffice to make one a master of the Vaipulya?
