7.55

「『野狐憍慢盛，求欲愛眷屬，
行到迦夷城，自稱是獸王。
人憍亦如是，現領於徒眾，
在於摩竭國，法主以自號。』」

"‘The wild fox was filled with haughty pride,
Seeking desires and cherishing a retinue;
Traveling to the city of Kāvī,
He declared himself king of the beasts.
Arrogant humans are also like this,
Openly leading followers and disciples;
Dwelling in the kingdom of Magadha,
They style themselves Masters of the Dharma.’"
