Fifth, rebuking desire for tangibles: the bodies of men and women being soft, tender, and smooth; warm when it is cold, cool when it is hot; as well as all delightful touches. Foolish people lack wisdom and drown in them, giving rise to deeds that obstruct the Path. For example, the one-horned ṛṣi (Ekaśṛṅga), due to the desire for touch, subsequently lost his supernormal powers and was ridden on the neck by a courtesan. Through various causes and conditions such as these, one knows the faults and offenses of tangibles.
