答曰：前後皆約修行入證以為詮次。今欲簡別法心之相事，須約言句為便。亦以諸經論中說四句皆爾，故云行時非說時，說時非行時，此義易明。

Answer: Before and after are both arranged in terms of cultivation entering realization. Now, wishing to distinguish the characteristics of dharma and mind, it is convenient to follow verbal propositions. Furthermore, the four propositions spoken in the various sūtras and treatises are all like this; hence it is said that the time of practice is not the time of exposition, and the time of exposition is not the time of practice. This meaning is easy to understand.
