第一、標禪門者，若尋經論所說禪門，乃有無量，原其根本，不過有二，所謂：一、色；二、心。如《摩訶衍》中偈說：
First, indicating the dhyāna gates: If one examines the dhyāna gates spoken of in the sūtras and treatises, they are indeed immeasurable; tracing their root, they do not exceed two, namely: first, form; second, mind. As a verse in the Mahāyāna[-śāstra] says:
