Once the practitioner's contemplation of external bones is accomplished, they should again, with a concentrated mind, carefully contemplate the white bones of their internal body, refining them to be bright and pure, like cornelian or mother-of-pearl. While contemplating their own bones, they see all external skeletons rise and stand, lining up in rows facing one another, raising their hands and approaching. Within samādhi, the practitioner immediately knows that all these skeletons have merely come following one's thoughts and have no fixed reality; their mind is neither alarmed nor terrified. Furthermore, their mind should silently think and scold these skeletons: 'Halt! You skeletons, where have you come from!' When scolded in this way, they see all the skeletons collapse back to the ground; this may occur many times.
