答曰：不必一向。如《妙勝定經》所明，但能直心坐禪，即是第一懺悔。若於坐中有難轉多，不得用心者，必須懺悔。

Answer: It is not necessarily in one way only. As explained in the Sūtra on the Exquisite and Supreme Concentration, if one can simply sit in meditation with a straightforward mind, that itself is the foremost repentance. However, if during meditation difficulties multiply and one cannot focus the mind, one must repent.
