十、心強軟：強者，觸發之時，其心剛強，出入不得自在，猶如瓦石，難可迴變，不順善道。軟者，觸發之時，心志軟弱，易可敗壞，猶若軟泥，不堪為器。

Tenth, mental rigidity and softness: regarding rigidity, when the sensation arises, the mind is unyielding and stiff, unable to enter or exit [absorption] with self-mastery, like tiles or stones that are difficult to alter or reshape, not according with wholesome paths. Regarding softness, when the sensation arises, the mental resolve is soft and weak, easily broken and ruined, like soft clay unfit to be formed into a vessel.
