第四、次料揀發禪不定，略為五意：一、正料揀事、理兩修發禪不定；二、明發禪所由；三、辨發禪多少；四、明發宿善根盡相；五、約有漏、無漏分別。

Fourth, next, sorting out the indeterminate arising of dhyāna, briefly in five points: first, correctly sorting out the indeterminate arising of dhyāna from both phenomenal and principle cultivation; second, explaining the causes of the arising of dhyāna; third, distinguishing the quantity of dhyāna arising; fourth, explaining the marks of the exhaustion of arising past wholesome roots; fifth, differentiating in terms of defiled and undefiled.
