Question: Regarding the three cessations explained above, fixing on conditions and reining in the mind are both phenomenal cessations, so they should only give rise to dhyāna absorptions within phenomena; only the single cessation of embodying truth is a cessation of principle, so it should give rise to dhyāna absorptions within principle. Why is it that now all three cessations commonly give rise to all dhyānas of phenomena and principle? If so, cause and effect are confounded without distinction.
