四、對機宜者，未必隨樂。如有人樂欲體真，而不入定。若暫繫心守境，即發諸禪。此應隨便宜而授法。

Fourth, matching suitability of capacities does not necessarily follow inclination. For example, someone may desire to embody the real but not enter concentration; if he temporarily fixes the mind and keeps to an object, various dhyānas will immediately arise. In such cases, one should confer the Dharma according to what is suitable.
