5.118

第一、明二禪發相者，行者於中間禪心不憂悔，一心加功，專精不止，於後其心澹然澄靜，無有分散，名未到地。故論偈云「得入一識處」，即是二禪方便定發。

First, explaining the signs of the manifestation of the second dhyāna: when the practitioner does not feel sorrow or regret in the intermediate dhyāna, applies effort with single-mindedness, and concentrates without ceasing, later his mind becomes calm, clear, and quiet, without any distraction, which is named the anāgamya. Therefore, a verse in the treatise says, 'Attaining entry into the single consciousness-base,' which is the manifestation of the preparatory samādhi of the second dhyāna.
