第三、明證禪相，通方便論證自有三階：一、證欲界定相；二、證未到定相；三、正明證初禪相。一、明證欲界定，自有二意：一、正明證相；二、明得失。

Third, explaining the marks of realizing dhyāna. In discussing realization together with expedient means, there are naturally three stages: first, the marks of realizing desire-realm concentration; second, the marks of realizing anāgamya concentration; third, directly explaining the marks of realizing the first dhyāna. First, explaining the realization of desire-realm concentration naturally has two points: first, directly explaining the marks of realization; second, explaining gain and loss.
