8.81

釋曰：行者於初禪後，心患初禪覺觀動散，攝心在定，不受覺觀，亦知上地不實，諦觀息、色、心三性，一心緣內，覺觀即滅，則發內淨大喜三昧，於定內見身如泡，具二禪行。

Explanation: After the first dhyāna, the practitioner's mind is troubled by the agitation and scattering of vitarka and vicāra in the first dhyāna; gathering the mind in concentration, they do not accept vitarka and vicāra, and also know that the higher stages are unreal. Closely contemplating the three natures of breath, form, and mind, with one mind focused internally, vitarka and vicāra then cease, whereon the samādhi of internal purity and great prīti arises; within concentration, they see their body as like a foam bubble, possessing the practice of the second dhyāna.
