次明識處定相者，經言：「若有比丘修奢摩他、毘婆舍那，觀心、意、識，自知此身不受三受，以得遠離是三種受，是名比丘得識處定。」

Next, explaining the characteristics of the absorption of the station of [infinite] consciousness, the sūtra states: 'If there is a monk who cultivates śamatha and vipaśyanā, contemplates mind, intellect, and consciousness, and knows for himself that this body does not receive the three feelings, having come to depart from these three kinds of feelings—this is called a monk attaining the absorption of the station of consciousness.'
