3. Taking mind as the dhyāna gate: If one uses wisdom to introspect the nature of the mind, it can allow the practicing mind to pass through to the Lotus, mindfulness of the Buddha, pratyutpanna, factors of awakening, śūraṅgama, and other great samādhis, as well as the dhyāna of self-nature, up to the pure and clean dhyāna and so forth. This is the supreme supramundane dhyāna gate, also named collecting the mind through dharmas that neither emerge nor cease. This is provisionally based on the dhyāna gates of bodhisattvas. For this reason, the gates are categorized in terms of these three dharmas.
