Third, the wind-wheel: Like wind in the world, it has three meanings: first, moving through empty space without obstruction; second, stirring myriad things; third, being able to destroy. The practitioner's arousal of the wind-wheel samādhi is also like this: if through dhyāna-concentration one arouses conformable wisdom and unobstructed expedient means, it is like wind moving through space, completely unobstructed. As for 'stirring': attaining the path of expedient means, one can then stimulate various supramundane wholesome roots so that virtues grow. As for 'destroying': wisdom and expedient means can shatter all views and afflictions. If people of the two vehicles attain this wind-wheel samādhi, it is the arousal of conformable undefiled understanding of the five expedient means. If it is a bodhisattva, one enters the ten faiths of the iron wheel; this is called the wind-wheel.
