Third, regarding the obstacle of pressing sensory realms: When a practitioner is cultivating concentration, although free from the above matters, their body sometimes suffers sudden pain, and they feel pressing distress. They see various external realms: perhaps seeing bodies without heads, hands, or feet, without eyes, and the like; or seeing clothes torn to shreds; or sinking into the ground; or fire coming to burn the body; or seeing a high cliff and then falling; or two mountains blocking them; or rākṣasas, tigers, and wolves; or dreaming of various bad omens. Matters such as these are all path-obstructing sins arising to press upon the practitioner, either making them alarmed and frightened or causing them suffering and affliction. Various things such as these cannot be completely described. This is called the mark of the manifestation of the obstacle of pressing sensory realms.
