Third, explaining the treatment for one in whom greed and attachment arise toward all things: the symptoms of the disease of greed are as explained before. As for the method of treatment, one should teach the great contemplation of impurity conditioned on all things: contemplating all objects—men and women, one's own body, other bodies, fields and gardens, houses, clothing, food and drink, everything existing in the world—seeing all as impure, with no place whatsoever where a mind of greed could arise. At that time, in all places revulsion arises, and all greed and desire has nowhere further to arise. This is called counteracting the disease of greed and desire toward all things.
