Second, explaining the treatment for afflictions of internal and external greed and desire: the symptoms of the affliction disease are as explained before. If one wishes to treat it, one should teach the practice of the contemplation of the first liberation and so on, carefully contemplating the internal body as impure, decaying, and repulsive, which shatters greed and attachment conditioned upon the internal; furthermore, as before, one should contemplate the external as impure and repulsive, which separates one from greed and attachment to external objects. This is the first liberation: using this impure mind to contemplate internal and external form can shatter the disease of lustful greed attached to the internal and external.
