Second, explaining the manifestations of the emergence of the absorption of sympathetic joy. After the practitioner has cultivated in this way, through the power of mindfulness, wisdom, merit, and wholesome roots, when they focus in this manner, the power of samādhi immediately arises; and so, within absorption, they naturally see the sign of their beloved dear ones being freed from suffering, attaining happiness, and rejoicing, with complete clarity. Within samādhi, their mind is ineffably cheerful; and so it is also for sentient beings of the ten directions and the five destinies experiencing delight and joy. The practitioner, within samādhi, sees the sign of external people experiencing sympathetic joy, yet their internal mind undergoes no disturbance; the absorption gradually deepens. This is called a mind accompanied by sympathetic joy.
