Second, explaining the manifestations of the emergence of the absorption of equanimity. After the practitioner has cultivated in this way, through the power of correct mindfulness, merit, and wholesome roots, when they focus in this manner, samādhi immediately arises; and so, within absorption, without exerting effort, they naturally see the sign of their beloved dear ones experiencing neither-suffering-nor-happiness, with complete clarity. Within dhyāna absorption, although they see sentient beings, their mind has neither hatred nor love; and so it is also for sentient beings of the ten directions and the five destinies. The practitioner at that time, within this absorption, sees all sentient beings as signs of equanimity; samādhi unfolds, free from disturbance, profound, sublime, and firm, their mind secure, equal, and non-dual. This is called a mind accompanied by equanimity.
