Eleventh, liberating the abiding mind: this corresponds to countering and destroying the bliss of the third dhyāna. Why is this? The third dhyāna has bliss pervading the body; when ordinary persons attain it, they mostly give rise to defiled craving and are bound by it, failing to attain liberation. Now speaking of liberation: through deconstruction and analysis by contemplative wisdom, when realizing bliss pervading the body, one immediately knows that this bliss arises from causes and conditions, is empty and without intrinsic nature, and is deceptive and unreal; contemplating bliss without attachment, the mind attains mastery; therefore it is called causing the mind to be liberated.
