Seventh, "recollection of ānāpāna": as explained previously in the initial gateway of the sixteen sublime practices. If the practitioner's mind becomes startled and terrified, he should immediately harmonize the breath, focus on the inhalation and exhalation of the breath, and upon becoming aware of having counted to ten, he should utter the words, recollecting ānāpāna; continuing in this manner up to ten, the six faculties will return. By single-mindedly recollecting the breath, terror is immediately eliminated.
