復次，云何名巧修六妙門出生勝進相攝相？行者於初調心數息，從一至十，心不分散，是名數門。當數息時，靜心善巧，既知息初入、中間經遊至處，乃至入已還出亦如是，心悉覺知，依隨不亂，亦成就數法，從一至十，是則數中成就隨門。

Next, what is called the characteristic of mutual subsumption through the skillful cultivation of the six wondrous gates that generates superior progress? When the practitioner initially regulates the mind to count the breath from one to ten without the mind scattering, this is called the gate of counting. When counting the breath, with a tranquil mind and skillful means, one knows the initial entering of the breath, the places it traverses in between, and even its coming back out after entering, being identical in this way; the mind completely perceives and knows it, following along without confusion, and also achieves the method of counting from one to ten—this is achieving the gate of following within counting.
